Who do I want to be today?

Sometimes you wake up in the morning look in the mirror and ask Who do I want to be today? Which style icon am I feeling like dressing like?

Inspired by the book I Want to Be Her by Andrea Linett in which she writes about the people who have influenced her style. There are many women whose style I love and has influenced me over the years. I thought it would be fun to put together some outfits in homage to some of the most stylish women of all time.

Dianna Vreeland – legendary fashion editor has been a huge influence in who I am, a little bit eccentric, very forthright and had a passion for fashion.

Top – white shirt Jaeger from Jarrold, pearls Ebay, Vintage YSL scarf, trouser borrowed from my husband’s wardrobe.
Bottom – Sweater Zara about 4 years ago, trousers charity shop, loafers Retreat Vintage.

Slim Keith – Nancy “Slim” Keith was a New York socialite and inspiration for one of Truman Capote’s characters in his novel Answered Prayers. None for throwing great parties and her great style.

Top – White shirt as before, vintage red blazer Wild Daisy Vintage, trousers are the husbands again.
Bottom – Everything from Ebay and husbands trousers!!

Grace Kelly – movie star before becoming Princess Grace of Monaco. I have always loved her simple elegant style whether laid back casual or full on glamour.

Top – white shirt as before, chinos and scarf Nansa Charity shop and belt Ebay.
Bottom – vintage dress Prim Vintage Fashion

Bianca Jagger – the ultimate rock chic when married to Mick Jagger but for me she always had a touch of elegance and sophistication that I loved.

Top – sweater H&M about 6 years ago, vintage beret Morwenna Farrell Ilustrations, sunglasses Ebay

I could have chosen so many options for this post but I have tried to use pieces that I have in my wardrobe so I hope you like my versions my style icons looks.

It is important to have your own style but as a fashion stylist I am always influenced by the past, the runway and anything and everything I see around me.
