A very vintage day out

When your good friend and manager at one of the very best vintage shops in Norfolk invites you to lunch and play dress up you just don’t say no!!

I was invited by Sarah from Wild Daisy Vintage and the manager at Vegas Vintage situated in the fabulous boutique B&B The Dial House for lunch and to take a look at their collection of vintage and pre-loved designer fashion.

When you walk through the door you are met with an array of amazing vintage and antique furniture and collectables all of which are for sale by the time we reached the clothes I had already mentally spent a fortune and wanted to re-design the whole house!!

Once upstairs there are rails of beautiful curated pieces of fashion heaven from stunning vintage to wonderful designer items from previous seasons. I didn’t know where to start – as you can imagine I was just a little bit excited!!

My face caught by Sarah as I walked in the door!!

Sarah and I spent the next couple of hours trying on and creating outfits. So here are some of the gems that we put together.

There were so many fabulous designer gems to try on, from YSL, to Prada, Dolce and Gabbana and there was even a pair of Vivienne Westwood pirate boots and a classic Anglomania dress which brought back memories of working with her in the early 80s – she would grab a piece of fabric and start draping and pining on a model and all of a sudden you had a stunning creation that was next seen on the runway. She was an eccentric genius with the dirtiest laugh you ever heard. I would have tried on the Westwood but after such a delicious lunch it didn’t quite fit!!

We were booked in for lunch in the restaurant downstairs so made our way down to be shown to our table by a lovely friendly waitress who immediately brought us a glass of fizz to drink while we perused the menu. It was a difficult choice as it all sounded so delicious with all the food from local and independent suppliers – when the food arrived we tucked in – all so tasty and beautifully presented.

After lunch we popped back upstairs to take one more look before I decided what was going to find it’s way into my wardrobe. All of the items are such quality and in the most amazing condition so you will be investing in a classic piece that you will wear time and time again. The prices are also very reasonable so your bank manager will not be to upset if you make a purchase or two!?

I could have left with multiple purchases but was very restrained and bought a couple of pieces with one put on layaway!! But I will definitely go back when I need an extra special addition to the wardrobe or a something rather fabulous for the house as well.

If you love vintage and second-hand I would totally recommend making taking a trip out if you are local to the area, make a day of it, have some lunch and have a bit of retail therapy.

Not local to Norfolk then why not make a weekend of it and book one of the beautifully styled rooms and explore the stunning countryside. If you book a the B&B they are offering a free hours styling session during stay your with Sarah so you can get her expert advice and her unique style for your very own – I guarantee won’t be disappointed or come away empty handed!!

I certainly didn’t! You can follow my Instagram account to see what I bought and how I style them up over the next few weeks.

Disclaimer: Lunch was gifted but purchases were paid for.
