Thursday is the launch of a very busy but fabulous time Norwich Fashion Week – as regular readers will know I organise the Vintage Show which every year showcases the very best of original fashion, vintage inspired shops and designers that our fine city has to offer. This year is bigger than ever with two shows instead of one, an after party and best dressed competition so it has been quite a roller coaster to get it all sorted out. You can buy tickets for the Vintage show here.
But aside from all the hard work it is the perfect opportunity to get dressed up and have a fabulous time celebrating all that is fashion in Norwich. The other main problem is of course – WHAT DO I WEAR?? Apart from the Vintage show there are many other events that I am invited to and I try to attend as many as I can so many outfits need be sorted and with my new found passion for mixing up my look I am excited to come up with some combinations to take me through the week of fashion frolics.
As you can image there many a photo opportunity so looking scruffy is not an option!! I like to plan what I am going to wear for special events in advance so I don’t have any last minute panics – the week is so busy that I need to be organised. Here are my tips for dressing for fashion week:
- Make sure you give yourself time – there is nothing worse than finding your perfect outfit and when you go to put it on the hem is falling down or it has a big stain on the front!!
- If you are doing a lot of sitting around try to find something that doesn’t crease to much – nothing worse that getting up from your seat and looking like a dish rag??
- Be comfortable – you don’t want to be wearing something that is to tight/short or very different from you usual outfits – just so you look fabulous and not uncomfortable when posing for the photographers!!
- Put an emergency kit in your bag – small sewing kit, safety pins, hair grips and plasters just in case all the standing in heels gives you a blister??
A round up will posted after I have recovered but here is my inspiration for my outfits for this year.
I am excited to see all the fabulous shows and events – are you going and what are you wearing??
