A couple of weekends ago was one of my favourite weekends of the Swing Calendar – Hepcats Holiday, like minded folk head to a holiday camp on the Suffolk cast for 3 days of vintage filled fun.

The atmosphere is always amazing and it is great to meet up with old friends and make some new ones.

The weekend is full of dancing, shopping and watching some great bands and this year there were some fabulous bands and DJ’s to keep us on the dance floor all weekend – my favourite band was Ray Collins from the Netherlands and my very good friend Andy AV8 who DJ’d for the first time at this event played some cool tunes – I haven’t danced so much in a long time!!

Another great thing is that I get a chance to shop at two really great vintage stalls – Dress Circle and Shazam Vintage – they always manage to part me from my cash and this time was no exception. I have wanted a vintage kimono for a long time and I found the most fabulous one from Shazam – a quick stitch up the from, the addition of a black belt and a few flowers I had a stunning outfit for the Hawaiian night on the Sunday. I also found a great suit  and blouse that will be popping up at an event as soon as the weather gets warmer and a coat that is to die for – union-made with fur cuffs and hem that just had to come home with me!!

My other outfit for the Friday night was also a dress from Shazam that I bought sometime last year – I just love the details and the bow on this dress.

It was a fantastic weekend and all too soon it was time to pack up and come back to normality but the Swing season has begun and I am looking forward to some great events coming up in the next few months.
