You could in fact go out every single night of the week in Norwich and do something different each time as it is so diverse from theatre, burlesque, gigs, exhibitions and cinema.
I am bit of an old movie buff and not much for big block busters so Cinema City has both independent films, old movies along side general releases. They have a great bar that you can have a drink before the movie and take it in with you too. Snacks to munch on while enjoying the movie include gourmet popcorn and chocolate.
Norwich boosts 4 theatres – Theatre Royal – with everything from West End musical, plays, ballet and opera, Maddermarket – a rep company that although amateur stage some great plays and events too, Norwich Playhouse has a variety of productions from stand up, bands, and burlesque, finally a little way out of the town centre is Sewell Barn – another am dram with a theatre set in the routunda.
Norwich has museums too with Norwich Castle Museum that has a variety of exhibits as well as regular exhibitions. One of my favourite museums is Museum of Norwich – a history of our fine city and a rather fine collection of vintage shoes that I was lucky enough to have a private view at the archives.

Art galleries are a great way to spend a few hours taking in the variety of styles from the classics in Norwich Castle, regular exhibitions at Fairhurst Gallery, Norwich University of the Arts once a year has it graduate show which is a fabulous showcase for new artists, photographers, designers and film makers. Moosey Art is a great space to see contemporary modern artists and Pop Up’s.
