Not Your Cookie Cutter Bride

Recently I launched my Vintage Wedding Dress Sourcing service at the coolest of event – Most Curious Wedding Fair set in the amazing Fire Pit Camp. With fabulous cool wedding businesses from florists, hire companies, hair and make up, catering. photographers, stationery and much more.

The venue for the day was wonderful and so many inspiring and talented people in one space – it made me want to get married all over again – wedding renewl coming in the planning I feel but back to the reason I was at the fair.

As a vintage stylist I often get asked if I can source an alternative dress for their special day – many brides want to wear an original dress but don’t know where to start looking so I came up with an idea to offering a sourcing service to find the perfect outfit – take a look at the wedding page to find out more.

So on a cold “Spring” morning I headed out to set up my stand helped  by my very good friend Marie from The Trend Academy who very kindly was driver and moral support for the day we headed out to set up and meet lots of lovely brides to be.

The outside space was just wonderful and I am taking inspiration for my garden re-vamp. Catwalk styled by The Little Lending Company and Swaffam Florist

Working on a small budget and not much idea of how I was going to dress the stand I think that I did OK with the help of wedding styling extrordinaire from One Curious Dream who loaned me the screen for the day I created a simple but cool set up along with a photo of my parents wedding as good luck!!

Fabulous wedding dresses borrowed from The Big C Bridal Boutique.

Once I had set up I took a little wander around the other stands and was blown away by all the fabulous creativity on show from so many independent business owners.

One of my favourite stands was from Oops! a Daisy Florist who created a stunning floral display – I wanted to take that pink confection home to put around my fireplace.  We follow each other on Instagram and it was great to meet in person as we share a passion for all things vintage!! And of course we are planning a little collaboration in the next few months.

As a stylist I off course was interested so take a look at the wedding dresses and accessories and they did not disappoint. Directly opposite my stand was Adorn by Ashley who creates beautiful bespoke embroided and floral veils and accessories. Cambridge Bridal and I have been communicating for a few weeks about a shoot and it was lovely to see all her one off totally original dresses in one place – I am looking forward to styling up her a couple of them for a shoot that is in the planning!!

It was such a fabulous day and met so many wonderful people so watch out for some fantastic collaborations coming soon. And I am excited to start working with brides to be who want something a little different for their wedding day.

Watch out for more news and events coming soon and if you are getting married and want help find your perfect dress do get in touch or even if you just want a chat to see if vintage is the way to go for you?
